Seeking Spiritual Direction?

Are you looking to go deeper in your spiritual journey toward God or to grow closer to God?

Contemplative spiritual direction can aid you in your journey.  Contemplative spiritual direction provides a spiritual companion whose calling is to support you in listening for what God may be saying, doing, or calling you to go as you seek to walk closer to Him in your life.  Your spiritual director is there to listen to your story, to pray with you, and to listen for God's voice.

Many Christians, including myself, have found it helpful to have a mature Christian come alongside us to help discern God's voice and activity in our lives, whether in the midst of crisis, at a crossroads, in a spiritual dry spell, or in a period of rich, spiritual growth.

As stated in my profile, I am serving as a second-career-pastor after 21 years at a Fortune 50 company where I provided business coaching and consulting.  As a pastor, I provide pastoral counseling, but contemplative spiritual direction is different from coaching, consulting, or pastoral counseling because the focus is on listening, discernment, and prayer.  In my personal life, I practice contemplative prayer, liturgical prayer, lectio divina, the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and Daily Examen, and the Jesus Prayer.  I studied in both the Protestant and Roman Catholic traditions and earned my Master’s Degree in Theology.

I have undergone contemplative spiritual direction training through Leadership Transformations’ Selah Certificate Program.  (Click here to learn more.)  As an ordained clergyman, I see spiritual direction as part of my ministry, so I do not charge a fee.  I provide spiritual direction as my calendar permits.

If you are interested in receiving spiritual direction in the contemplative style or discovering what it is all about, email me by clicking here.  I work in Polk County, Florida, where I am available for in-person spiritual direction. I am also comfortable with providing spiritual direction remotely via Zoom.
